Outraged in the Fold of Islam?

OUTRAGED by the disbelief, questions, disagreements, differences, deeds/acts, planned efforts/intentions, etc. of those who do not ''follow an Islam that you do''?

What are the core values of Islam? The 5 Pillars... Agree? Yes, and I do mean CORE (as taught to us by the Last Prophet -pbuh-).

If your answer is in agreement, then what is WITH this ''outrage''?

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not react in outrage to the people who drove him away from his home, mistreated him, bad mouthed him, fought against him, etc... then what gives US the right to be outraged by such things/events when we are treated similarly?

He (pbuh) was the best example set for his entire Ummah that lived when he (pbuh) did, and the one that followed his demise, thereafter.

I see no excuse or justification for our behavior when we go against the examples set by him!

We are either in denial (as ''followers'' of Islam), or we are hypocrites (to some extent or another), or we simply do not believe!

I believe: Leave the outrage to the disbelievers (kafiroon) or to the hypocrites (munafiqun), and instead stand strong and patient alongside those who follow the same CORE values that make Islam; praying to The Maker of all that exists (known or unknown to us and His creation) to show His light and mercy upon them, and grant us patience and direction straight from Him. Ameen!

For without an iota of a doubt, for those who ''believe'', only Allah (swt) Knows All; Knows Best!

It is heartening to hear a voice that agrees in this regard... If only such were rampant amongst our brethren all over and then some...

Thanks for reading and sharing your view on it. More than half the time Im talking to myself on here, and called a lunatic by my inner voice :)

Lol.. I had to save ya Hayaah. :p

Just one thing though:

Where does someone who you think shares the same core values as you but acts the complete opposite sit in all this.

Or at a level different to your understanding or willingness to understand.

:) for the 1st comment...

As for the other, it really isn't for me to understand, is it. It is about how he represents his beliefs. This is why I begin with the words, ''I believe...'' and as for every one else, each of us have to hold our own grounds when all else is over and we are standing alone on that deciding moment with nothing between us and our Maker but our deeds. This too is embedded with in each believer differently. What is important is that we ''try'' to inculcate the values of the very person, in who's name we present our outrage, in who's preachings we entrust our being while opening our eyes, hearts, minds and soul to the awareness of our Maker.

Make any sense?
Its definitely subjective and bound to be interpreted and felt at different levels by different people. We are after all individuals.

You're talking at a very high conceptual level that will take people many years to attain or never at all. Almost in a sense we must let go of emotions and yet be firm when someone does something we dislike. That may or may not mean being quiet and patiently waiting for a moment of strength to appear before taking an action.

for example: data darbar suicide attacks. Hard not to be angered by it in the heat of the moment. Innocent vulnerable people killed for no reason by what we all assumed was local boys, muslim, and by default sharing the same core values. Maybe we shouldn't assume it.

Or one discussion that I saw online was of Pakistan cricketers eating on their balcony in plain sight even though it's Ramadan for muslims. Some made a fuss of this. For me it was a case of well we don't know if they even fast at all.. maybe they don't practise.. But if you assumed shared core values, what might you make of it...

Well, when I say this and that it is not for me but for Allah to judge, I literally mean that it is something we need to make ''ourselves'' aware of with in ourselves... that are we being hypocrites when we say we love the prophet (pbuh), or are we being hypocrites when we say we believe in the values of our religion, but do not practice them? Either ways, we gain or lose not for you or me or another person who thinks so, but for Allah. That they need to start from with in and represent there after a better picture of their beliefs, all IMHO ofcourse.

As for the incidences you quote, being angered by it is not what I question, rather what we do with that initial anger. Im not saying that things did not irk our Prophet (pbuh), but Im saying lets learn from how he responded to them. As for assuming that the local boys, muslim, and by default sharing the core values bit... well u said it best when u added that maybe we shouldn't assume that. Cos we as humans love making assumptions. I reprimand myself daily on my silent judgement of people around my work place and otherwise (these days), when I sit down to reflect and thereafter beg Him for forgiveness. Tooting one's own horn ends up blaring in their own face at some point or another in life. My point yet again... dont preach what you dont do (or believe, which i say from the fact that ure not doing? but by saying so I myself begin assuming)... Only Allah swt would Know best.

I suddenly feel like im spinning in a cirlce here. I guess its one of those things that either make sense to you, or not, based on how much (based on our Islamic belief) Allah swt in that moment and time, wishes for us to understand, perhaps?

As for the last bit... it always bugs me when muslims are perturbed by others eating in sight when they are fasting, for there in is the trial of your fast. If you removed others eating or drinking from your sight, that just makes it easy for you. And like you said, who knows if they are practising or not, and re-iterating the bit above about their core values and me assuming they share it... Well, I dont really know do I? :) So Ill stop myself from making a comment on them, or atleast begin by trying...
