When I broke the sanctity of what existed as you and I, I sat at the labyrinth of lies and began wading through pools of deceit, fighting the pulls of tempestuous waves inorder to remain lucidly adrift, desperately wishing to once and for all dock upon a shore of trustworthy relationships, with an unshakable faith in their indubitable reliability.
It is our inborn nature to trust and move on that makes relationships work for the most of us...else would we ever bother to mend a broken heart and find love again?
Having said that, some people have an inborn tendency to be unable to trust after certain life lessons; not saying I am one of them, but there do exist those too...
That's where fate comes into play...sometimes no matter how guarded we keep ourselves and our heart, the person made for us sweeps us off our feet anyway.

Hmm... in my case time only shall tell.
The whole sweeping off one's feet concept is far too melodramatic in my present pragmatic state of mind offlate.
The sappy romantic is dying I guess, or simply waking up to a real world?
Powerful lines there..I love your choice of words... :)
